In many ways, the obstacles we face today are similar to those that faced the Founding Fathers as they began to write the Constitution. In those days, those with power were those who could afford a large army. Unfortunately, a large army meant a huge tax burden on the citizenry. To ensure that no one would be able to challenge their authority, the wealthy elite – known as “Kingmakers” – had a disproportionate share of the power.

These “Kingmakers” then had a disproportionate share of influence over what laws actually took place. In modern times, we see many of the same things happening in our political system. In our current political system, money is power and special interest groups have too much influence on what laws are passed and how they are enforced.

This is why it is so important for us to elect a President who is willing to break down these barriers and fight for us all.
